WINDOWS 10 PRO BUILD 10240 EN-US
Windows 10 is a personal computer operating system being developed by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. Officially unveiled in September 2014 following a brief demo at Build 2014, its RTM build was released on July 15, 2015, and the operating system is scheduled for general availability beginning on July 29, 2015.[3] The main goal of Windows 10 is to culminate an effort to unify the Windows operating system across multiple Microsoft product families—including PCs, tablets, smartphones, embedded systems, and Xbox One, as well as new products such as Surface Hub andHoloLens—allowing these products to share what Microsoft described as a "universal" application architecture and Windows Store ecosystem. Expanding upon the Windows Runtime platform introduced by Windows 8, this architecture allows applications to be adapted for use between these platforms while sharing common code.
Windows 10 introduces revisions to the operating system's user interface, including the addition of Start menu similar toWindows 7 but incorporating Windows 8's "live tiles", a virtual desktop system, a notifications sidebar, and the ability to adjust user interface behaviors based on available input devices—particularly on convertible laptops and tablets with keyboard accessories. Windows 10 will provide integration with additional Microsoft services, including the intelligent personal assistantCortana, and Xbox Live. Windows 10 will also introduce a new default web browser, Microsoft Edge, as well as integrated support for fingerprint and face recognition login, and new versions of DirectX and WDDM to improve the operating system's graphics capabilities for games.
-oriented user interface mode was panned for containing regressions upon the touch-oriented interface of Windows 8. Critics also praised the improvements to Windows 10's bundled software over 8.1, Xbox Live integration, as well as the functionality and capabilities of Cortana and the replacement of Internet Explorer with Edge—although the browser was criticized for being a work in progress that was not yet feature complete. Windows 10 was also criticized for limiting how users could control its operation; in particular, Windows Update installs all updates automatically, no longer allows users to selectively install updates, and only the Pro edition of Windows 10 can "defer" the installation of "upgrades" for the operating system. Privacyconcerns were also voiced by critics and advocates, as the operating system's default settings and certain features require the transmission of user data to Microsoft or its partners.
